Writing is a passion for me. I write both fiction and nonfiction!
Carla has written since she was about 8 years old, because she wants to help people through her stories. She writes novels and shorts stories about professional women and their lives. As a successful author, Carla was a member of The Writer’s Clubs in California, a member and board chair of The San Francisco Writer’s Grotto. She has given lectures and classes on writing and publishing at the Writer’s Club, The San Francisco Writer’s Grotto, and San Diego Writers Ink.
In writing nonfiction, Carla has written extensively about dance! How it influences you, how it heals, and its meditative qualities across all dance forms. In 2022, Carla was the Martha Daniel Newell Visiting Scholar at Georgia College and State University. Prior to that she held faculty positions, and then served in leadership roles, from dean to chancellor, at public and private universities and colleges. She writes full time.
Wow, talk about exposing family histories of desperation! This novel tells the story of Cuban families who fight for their freedom as they make their way as immigrants in America.
Several of Carla's nonfiction books are about dance, such as Hip Hop Dance, and Dance Consumerism and Spirituality. And one, Arts Management: An entrepreneurial approach, is about managing the arts as an "culturepreneur." Visit her list on Amazon to learn more!
